EV/Green Tourism

At Braes Lodge we always strive to reach the highest standards we can and improving our green credentials is a high priority. Our overall mission is to reduce the impact of our business on the environment.

We are constantly reviewing and developing our ability to reduce our environmental impact and to this end have been members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme since March 2018.

Electric Vehicle Charging at Braes Lodge

With a steadily increasing number of guests owning and travelling with electric vehicles Braes Lodge has installed a PodPoint EV charger to provide improved choice for holidays in a rural location.

The charging unit is compatible with all current electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles being a Type 2 universal unit with 7.2 Kilowatt output and a rated current of 32 Amps.

Charging is metered and guest payments are calculated at the current published electricity tariff. The charging unit is only available to guests staying at the lodge.

Further details of the lodge’s green credentials can be found in the Braes Lodge Guest Digital Handbook sent to all guests before arrival.
